At the top of the hill of La Coronilla and as a gift from the Tagus Hidrographic Confederation, upon finishing the reservoirs of Entrepeñas and Buendia in 1956 a great monument to the Sacred Heart of Jesus was built. It features a 5.5-metre high statue of Christ. The total height of the monument is 23 metres. When Camilo Jose Cela passed by in 1946 it did not exist.
