The medieval sacristy which was located in the northern part of the transept was replaced during the reign of D. Manuel (1495-1521) by a new sacristy in the southwestern part of the monastery. The sacristy was destroyed during the earthquake of 1755, during its reconstruction the Manuline gates were kept, they are the few remaining examples of this style in the monastery.
