Saddle quern used by women for grinding grain and herbs used as medicine. After grind the herbs the saddle has to be washed thoroughly to remove the bitter taste left by the herbs before using it again to grind grain. The stone was collected by women from Mbagathi river almost 100 miles away. Such querns were passed on to others after death. If the person inheriting this sold or gave it away, it was be believed that some calamity would befall them.
