After crew members received provisions on board Intrepid, they were tasked with moving these supplies to storage spaces, most of which were located deep in the ship and far from where the supplies arrived. Transporting the goods was a team effort. In this photo, the crew gathers in the hangar deck to sort supplies. From here, the sailors would pass heavy bags of flour and cases of canned goods through narrow passageways and down steep naval ladders.
