Saint Francis in meditation

Saint Francis in Meditation is a fine example of Guercino's work. The saint is holding a crucifix in his left hand, of which only the bottom part is visible. The painting is imbued in a brown color palette, with use of chiaroscuro, taking inspiration from Caravaggio.
