Saint Francis is represented on his knees with his robe, the arms open like a cross trusting, abandoning himself to God, the hands and the chest with the stigmata, the face towards the sky in an ecstatic rapture. Beside him, seated on the ground, a brother pointing at the sky with his right hand and the left one on an open book, probably the rule of Saint Francis. In the background a big tree and some pale-blue mountains following the typical method of the cremonese painting of the period, inspired by the flemish painters.
