Figure of Saint James the Pilgrim attributed to Francesco Marino, one of Archbishop Álvaro de Isorna's goldsmiths, who had arrived in Santiago with the previous archbishop. It is a work of personal devotion with a clear Italian influence in its classical frontality, robes, and adornments.

Saint James is depicted with all the features and attributes of a pilgrim. This kind of iconography developed in the 14th century and, although the staff and gourd, cloak, and diadem date from the 17th century, they presumably replaced other similar ones.
