Musei di Arte Antica

Musei di Arte Antica
Ferrara, Italy

The painting, which depicts the founder of the Somaschi Fathers order, had on the back the inscription "Ercole Graziani" and the date 1669 (now no longer visible after the re-lining of the canvas during the 1980s). The work is therefore to be attributed to Ercole Graziani from Bologna, homonym of the youngest and best-known painter.
