Saint Michael the Archangel

Inside of the couple in the middle of the Chamber of Angels, Michelangelo the Younger asked that was depicted the figure of St. Michael the Archangel, whose realization was entrusted, as the rest of the frescoes of the ceiling, to Michelangelo Cinganelli. The Holy Warrior is seated on a throne of clouds, holding with his left hand the heavenly banner and with the right hand the palm of martyrdom and the scales for weighing the souls.
