Saint Orontius - Church of Saint Irene

Almost 3 metres high, made of Lecce stone, the statue of Saint Orontius depicts the Patron Saint with the pastoral staff and the emblem of the city supported by and angel. The statue is inserted in a somptuous altar and it is probably the last work by Francesco Antonio Zimbal, who died in 1630.
