Photograph of liturgical objects for Saint Peter's Church designed by Lella Vignelli and Massimo Vignelli in 1977. This project is likely the most comprehensive project ever done by the Vignellis. Saint Peter's Church is located at the base of the Citicorp Tower which was designed by architect Hugh Stubbins. The Vignellis designed the interiors, the furnishings, the organ, the pews and their cushions, the Church's graphic identity, and all the silver objects used for religious services. The space and the furniture were designed to be modular and flexible. Pews and the altar can be rearranged based on the needs of the Church. The original design of the Church has been maintained since it opened in 1977 and is one of the few Vignelli-designed interiors still in tact.
