Saint Peter the Apostle

The Holy Apostle is depicted as an elderly person, with a halo around his head, holding the Gospel in his right hand and a two keys chain – ”the Keys of Heaven” – in his left hand (he is considered the keeper of the Gates of Heaven).
It is very possible for this icon to have initially been a part of the iconostasis of the Cotroceni monastery's church, demolished after 1830, or of the ”Sfântu Gheorghe” church, from the Serban Voda inn.
