Long Description: "Half-lenght linden wood relief portray Saint Pope (perhaps Gregory the Great). Together with the reliefs of St. Christopher, Saint Bishop (perhaps Ambrose or Augustine) and St. Hieronymus is attributed to the master who made the altar in 1507 for the Seckau monastery after the commission of the provost Dürnberger. The depicitions in relief with characteristics of portraits such as shrivelled facial lineaments and verily broad faces are typical of the Late Gothic period. Most probably, their original position was on choir-stalls or maybe they were set upon an altar that is not preserved." (dr. Polona Vidmar)
