Uffizi Gallery

Uffizi Gallery
Florence, Italy

Originally on the chancel wall of the Church of St. Remigio, this is one of the masterpieces of 14th-century Florentine painting due to the drama in the portrayal of the two patrons, a nun and a young girl in contemporary clothing, upon whose heads the two respective protectors, St. Benedict and St. Remigius are placing their hands. It is in the Uffizi since 1851.
