This is Saint Sophia's Cathedral in Kyiv, it is located in the very centre of the city on Sophia Square. According to a legend here are the burials of Grand Princes of Kyiv – Yaroslav the Wise, Vsevolod I Yaroslavich and Volodymyr Monomakh. The original cathedral, which was constructed around the XI century, was built in a style of Byzantine architecture. But after the later reconstruction, the cathedral gained distinctive features of Ukrainian Baroque. The interior of the cathedral preserves unique mosaics and frescos. By examining them, it is possible to study the old Ukrainian language and the way it was practised secularly.
