Preparatory painting for the doors of the treasure cabinet in the main sacristy of the Cathedral of the Savior in Zaragoza. The iconography depicts the Aragonese saints linked to the Church of Saragossa and the cathedral see.
This magnificent canvas features precise, sure figure depictions handled in a delicate way. They are inspired by Neapolitan models like the Glory of Santa Cecilia (Gloria di Santa Cecilia) fresco painted by Sebastiano Conca between 1721 and 1724, with Giaquinto's help, on the ceiling of the monastic church of Santa Cecilia in Trastevere in Rome, and The Coming of Our Lady of the Pillar (La Venida de la Virgen del Pilar), painted by Antonio González Velázquez a few years previously at the Holy Chapel of the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar in Zaragoza. It is on deposit from the private collection of Félix Palacios Remondo.
