The "Salon Vert" of writer and designer Pauline de Rothschild's apartment on Rue Mechain, Paris. The walls are covered in green and white 18th-Century wallpaper printed in a chinoiserie garden theme. A long, low sofa upholstered in ribbed green fabric sits against a wall beneath a window curtained in shirred white fabric. Across from it, on the other side of a woven tapestry carpet, is an 18th-Century armchair upholstered in blue fabric, designed by furniture maker Jean-Rene Nadal. On the wall is a tall 18th-Century English mirror painted with chinoiserie depictions of people and animals.
