“I was born in Bethel in the hospital, that they have since torn down. I was born here, and I have a younger brother and sister. My dad is from Michigan, my mom is from the tundra village Kasigluk. My dad came here in the 50’s, he was a BIA (Bureau of Indian Affairs) teacher, and met my mom. And, here I am.”—Sam Crow is Yup'ik and lives in Bethel, Alaska.
