Samite with winged horse motif

On the head there are six small floral shaped hat decorations. A ribbon with pearl roundel motifs is tied around the neck. The torso has two wings enclosing pearl roundels. The four legs and tail are wrapped with chou silk ribbons. The design, of typical Sassanian character, is an excellent example of the cultural exchange that took place between Persian art and Chinese sericulture.
