Complete medieval Japanese Samurai armour, donated by the Athens Club. The neck guard (Tare), the cuirass (Do) are made of small alternating metal scales, varnished with a dark lacquer. Most of the armour, the glove like sleeves (Kote), the thigh guards (Kusazuri) and the shin guards (Suneate) are made of leather and hard, dark green cloth and subtly decorated with chain armour, in a shade of light ochre. Impressive is the metal helmet (Kabuto), with the inscription in Japanese ideograms, as well as the hideous face guard (Mengu).
