San Pascualito is a popular saint associated with the sixteenth-century Spanish friar San Pascual Bailón. He is venerated in the state of Chiapas, Mexico, and in Guatemala, where he performed a miracle that led to his renown. In 1650, San Pascualito appeared before a Maya man who was dying in an epidemic. He told the man that he would protect the sick if they invoked him through worship and predicted that while the man would die within nine days, the epidemic disease would cease. He is meant to be holding a scythe in his right hand.
