The filigree enamel of the cross is enriched with stones of glass paste and granulated decoration. Gradually, the filigree enamel gave room to elaborate wire crosses. Here, the main scenes are carved in wood: the Baptism and the Crucifixion along with secondary ones from the life of Christ and the Virgin, Evangelists and Saints Constantine and Helen. The cross features 17th century elements, like the dragons and the oversized flowers on both sides, but with a different rendering, characteristic of works from the late 18th century.
