Traditionally, the entire sandook including the ornamentation and painting would be done by the mistri (carpenter) himself. The mistri would design the sandook based on the cost as budgeted by the owner. This sandook was sixty years old, made from neem wood and elaborately painted. The maternal family of the lady belonged to Kauni village from where it was brought as a part of her daaj.
