These wooden sandook were gifts to the bride during the wedding; one belonged to the motherin-law and the other to the daughter-in law. Both sandook were being used to store clothes to be gifted to extended families on festivals and occasions. The top surface was covered with a thin cotton cloth stitched by the daughter-in-law to prevent dust from settling.
