Published in Daily National Intelligencer on Feb 12th 1840: Mortuary Notices - Died , at the residence of her son-in-law, Wm.B.Kibbey, in the 73 year of her age, of a lingering illness, which she bore with Christian fortitude, leaving behind her 3 daughters and one son, and numerous relatives, to mourn their irreparable loss. But their loss is her eternal gain. During her long life she was beloved & respected by all who knew her, she died in full hope of realizing the fruitations of a Saviour's love. In the Baltimore Sun on Feb 13, 1840 - Mortuary Notices - DIED - At Washington, at the residence of her son-in-law, Wm.B.Kibbey, on the 7th inst. in the 73d year of her age, Mrs. Susan Rinker, a native of St.Mary's County, Md, a resident of Alexandria for 50yrs and of Washington for the last 7yrs.
