The ring consists of two rings connected by crossing the shield and narrow strips. At their intersections and on the rings miniature balls of granulation are soldered. The shield has the shape of the so-called "crown of Isis": two round inserts of precious stones that imitate the sun and moon discs, and elongated inserts that resemble feathers on the wings — two feathers of an ostrich or Horus falcon — attributes of the sun.
Alexander the Great's conquests created Hellenistic states, including Ptolemaic Egypt. The mixing of cultures as a result allowed many religious traditions to spread in the new Hellenistic world. Isis gained wide popularity among the Greeks. She was associated with love and justice and motherly love for all people. Revealing the role of Isis as a wife and mother, the aretology calls her the inventor of marriage and parenthood. She was prayed to protect women during childbirth, and in ancient Greek novels such as the Ephesian narrative, she is mentioned as the protector of virginity.
