The sarung songket bergerus (calendered) fabric features gold woven Bugis pattern at the body of the fabric while the potong wajik motif decorates at the head of the fabric. After calendering, the songket fabric becomes wonderfully polished, more dense and produces a shiny appearance. The sarung songket fabric was calendered in 1989 by the Gerus Master Craftsman, Allahyarham Sheikh Omar bin Sheikh Ibrahim.

The songket bergerus fabric was usually made into sarung, kelubung and sampin fabrics that were worn during official ceremonies in the palace such as royal coronations, handing over letters of appointment, wedding ceremonies, circumcisions, funerals and more.
