Scaphe sundial, facsimile, [cast iron], Korea, designed 1437, made 1990
Cruciform base with four carved supports holding a bowl-shaped sundial with a flattened rim. Hour lines are marked on the inside surface of the the dial, with seasonal lines perpendicular. The gnomon is fixed to the southern side. The whole in blackened metal. This sundial is known as a "anbu ilgu" in Korean.
