Pforzheim, Germany

In Ancient Egypt, the scarab was regarded as a symbol of the resurrection and rebirth of the sun. Presumably from Asia Minor, this ring was crafted by a Greek goldsmith. It perfectly illustrates the influence of Egyptian art on the works created by artisans in the Classical period of Ancient Greece and is representative of an epoch when the region of modern-day Turkey was part of the Persian Empire.
