Scene from the Massacre of the Innocents

The scenes belonging to these reliefs, which are of great artistic interest, follow the usual iconographic model used in Hispanic art during the last centuries of the Middle Ages; emphasising, with great expressiveness, the brutality of the slaughter of the infants at the hands of the soldiers, sometimes faced with their mothers’ pleas.
