Published on May 10, 1844. " Published for proprietor by Leggatt and Neville, Cornhill, and Charles Gilhin." Image: 20 x 27.75 Frame: 32.5 x 41. This print depicts white slavers, probably American, buying slaves from black African slavers. The scene, although romanticized, still portrays the cruelty and dehumanizing conditions of the slave trade.
