It depicts the town of Shin-Yoshiwara and its lively air. It was probably painted in the first half of the 18th century,originally a hand scroll,but cut off,and made into folding screens.
Yoshiwara was the town where many kinds of love stories came about and went one after another,like a revolving stage.
