Scenic view of young palm trees along an avenue at the United States Soldiers Home, Pacific Branch. Known as the Sawtelle Veterans Home, the Old Soldiers' Home and the West Los Angeles Veterans Administration, it was established on Rancho San Vicente y Santa Monica lands that were donated in 1887 by Senator John P. Jones and Arcadia Bandini de Stearns de Baker. A two-story building can be seen faintly in the middle of the photograph. The card has an embossed H. F. Rile stamp. Photograph inscribed (handwritten): "Tom Vandergrift" On verso: Promotional advertisement for H. F. Rile, Artist.
