This sculptural ceramic bottle depicts a dog. This spotted dog is represented in several scenes of Moche art accompanying Ai Apaec, the Moche mythological hero (so named by Rafael Larco, meaning "the maker” in Muchik language). The dog is his faithful companion and travels with him through the different worlds. It is clearly a psychopomp personage. (UH)

Esta botella escultórica de cerámica representa un perro. Este perro moteado es representado en diversas escenas del arte Mochica acompañando al héroe mitológico Ai Apaec (así llamado por Rafael Larco, término que en lengua Muchik significa “el hacedor”), siendo su compañero fiel que incluso viaja con él por los diferentes mundos. Es claramente un personaje psicopompo.
