Mudec - Museum of Cultures
Milan, Italy

This vessel represents a building, inside which three funerary bundles (fardos) are laid to rest. These elements are painted on one side, rather than sculpted in relief. The object is also decorated with typical religious symbols of the Nazca culture: different gods and a number of human heads, a common sacrificial offering during fertility rituals.
