"The first diagnosis came at age 34, and it was a challenge to face that I was sick. I underwent chemo, radiotherapy and bilateral mastectomy, all by SUS. Now, with metastasis, I deal with the challenge of not being held hostage by it. I have the disease, but it does not have me, and it cannot be bigger or more important than me."

"The focus is on life and it was in front of it, not death, that I made my decisions. I was very free, independent, and didn't accept being cared for. Over time I realized it was an exchange, it was good for everyone. I also think faith is important. I focus a lot on my 'religare', which is to connect with the meaning of life. The word religion comes from 'religare'. I connect myself every day. You don't have to be sick to reconnect."
