It was discovered fortuitously in 1940, at the summit of hill of San Antonio (Santiponce), west of the Roman theater.
Together with other sculptures located in this area, including those of Diana and Mercury, it must be part of the monumentalization the northwestern part of the city, above the theater, probably carried out in the second century AD.
Today is exhibited at the Museo Arqueológico de Sevilla.
