The oval, rococo framed shield bears the Piława coat of arms (crossed silver pillar on a blue background). The noble crown above the shield is decorated with stones. Legend in German language: “MAGISTRAT DER FREYEN HANDELSSTADT BRODY” (Magistrate of the Fee Tade City of Brody).
The item was brought to Lviv Historical Museum in 1940 from the former King Jan III National Museum Lviv, where it was delivered in turn by burgomaster of Brody Gustav Kochanowski.
