Seasonal Japanese Dishes

Japanese ceramic dishes, created since the Edo Period (1603-1868), are decorated with a variety of designs. Most of these designs feature natural motifs, such as plants and animals. Japanese dishes feature many plants unique to the country, representing the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
