Section of wood panelling with decorative painting. From Rhodes, a Dodecanese island. It was once probably associated with a bed or part of a long narrow chest used also as a bench in the living-room of a mansion. The richly coloured and impressive scenes in separate panels depict horsemen, lions, partridges, hares, flower-vases, couples and young Cupids. Late 18th c. 0.43x2.32 m. Gift of Nina Aravantinou.
