Mount Etna is a stratovolcano located on the east coast of Sicily, Italy. The volcano is the largest is Italy and one of the largest in Western Europe.
As shown by the plume in the image, Mount Etna is in a nearly constant state of activity, making it one of Earth’s most active volcanoes.
