'Self Surgery' is the second ballet Peter Dockley created for NDT. This ballet is a synthesis of the visual arts and performing arts, with an emphasis on estrangement and inconveniences. It is set on a perfectly clean and bright white stage, with three slides on the background and white puppets on the front. In the middle of this scenery a woman dances on the sounds of droning percussions and sounds of a slaughterhouse.
