This series is one of his best known works. The children are sitting holding different objects related to their environment such as their clothes. Here, the girl is holding a painted ceramic plate.
Gustavo Montoya was an artist with artistic formation from the beginning of 20th century. He is known for his paintings and engravings of children, still lives and city landscapes, always taking the Mexican tradition. In his work the line is quite important.
