This service bell is engraved AHCF, the monogram of Mrs.Adelaide Howard Childs Frick, who would have used the bell to summon service at meals in Clayton. In the 1890s, Mollie Hett served as dining room maid, and would have served meals in both the dining and breakfast rooms, as well as assisting with dinner preparation and table service. Mollie Hett last appears on the March 1898 payroll. Her salary while she worked for the Fricks was $17.75 per month.
