Serving plate part of a porcelain service probably made for the marriage between don Giulio Visconti Arese Borromeo and the Marquise Teresa Cusani in 1721. The plate has an edge underlined with iron red, sepia and gold, decorated with floreal compositions; the main decoration consists in the Cusani emblem on the right and the Visconti Arese Borromeo emblem on the left. The service, commissioned in China with the sending of a drawing of the emblems, was ordered by don Giulio or by the Flemish aristocracy on the occasion of the wedding.
