Women serve refreshments to Second World War shelterers at Holland Park Underground station on 9 December 1940. The shelterers to the right are buying a bun to have with their makeshift meal on a packing case covered by a torn cloth. The tin they are opening may be canned meat. A Tube refreshments special train delivered food and drink to the shelterers every night.
