The Romans commemorated their victory over Judea and the destruction of the Jerusalem in various ways. One of these was through the minting of gold, silver, and bronze coins depicting the victorious emperor, personifications of Judea as a woman in mourning, and spoils of war. In this coin the conquered Judea is personified as a mourning woman beneath a palm tree, while the emperor of Rome is portrayed holding a javelin and a backwards turned sword.
