Japanese pepper corns (Sansho) sprout in spring, bloom in summer and ripen in autumn. This work that is modeled on Warisansho means the state of pepper corns that have ripened in autumn with their shells cracked-opened. With the combination of the astringent glaze tone, the work is abundantly pervaded with the seasonal sentiment of autumn.
