The biggest cup has a capacity of 2.3ℓ. Each cup has a maki-e design showing scenes of the Waka poem “Oki-no-ishi (Offshore Rocks)” composed by Nijoin Sanuki. In the order from big to small, it depicts offshore rocks, a sleeve hanging from a plum tree, a shrine in a field, fireflies and irises, and wickerwork fish traps and plovers.
