Hard-paste porcelain was introduced at the Sevres factory in 1770s with the discovery of
Kaolin. The new material affected enamelling process , so new wares were marked with a
crown over the interlaced ‘L’. This blue plate has a painting of a couple in the central panel.
Mark: Crossed ‘L’ with letter ‘U’ inside and crown on top
